Clinicians
Jeffery D. Parson, BS, CO/L
Jeff is President and Owner of Georgia Orthopedic Resources, Jeff is an American Board Certified orthotist with more than 20-years-experience in orthotics and rehabilitative medicine. He is licensed for orthotics in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners and holds a Cranial Remolding Orthosis Certification.
His past experience in the field of physical therapy gives him a unique understanding of applying orthopedic bracing principals to rehabilitation goals. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Physics, and attended Northwestern University for his specialized training in orthotics.
Jeff and his wife, Lyn, enjoy their five nieces and one nephew. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and flying. He has a love of music and loves to eat fresh seafood.
Jacob E. Bentley, BS, CO/L
Jake is Vice President and Owner of Georgia Orthopedic Resources since 2008. He is an American Board Certified orthotist with 20-plus years of experience in orthotics, pediatrics, and rehabilitative medicine. He is licensed for orthotics in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners and holds a Cranial Remolding Orthosis Certification.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Gerontology. Although Jake specializes in pediatric orthotics, he has extensive experience working with adults. He also served 12 years on the board of directors for the Georgia Society of Orthotists and Prosthetists.
Jake has two energetic boys who play and enjoy sports and gaming. He enjoys being at their Lacrosse games, riding his mountain bike on trails, and watching Alabama football (Roll Tide!). His favorite dessert is Butterfinger cake.
Chip Harris, CO/L
Chip is an American Board Certified orthotist with more than 20-years-experience in orthotics. Licensed by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners, Chip attended Georgia Southern University for his undergraduate work and the Median School of Allied Health in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for specialized training in orthotics and prosthetics. He also holds a Cranial Remolding Orthosis Certification.
Chip, who enjoys kayaking and vacationing at Hilton Head each year, collects knives and binges on the History Channel and North Carolina State football.
Wendy Newcomer, RN
Wendy has worked alongside the Georgia Orthopedic Resources team for the last 21 years while serving as a RN in the St. Mary’s Pediatric Specialty clinic. Upon her recent retirement, she joined GOR, helping in the Athens satellite facility.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Wendy graduated from Kent State University with Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She moved to Georgia upon graduation, accepting a position at Emory and worked at St. Mary’s for the past 32 years.
Wendy lives in Athens with her husband, Doug, and has a vacation home in Sky Valley, GA. In her leisure, Wendy enjoys traveling, hiking, shopping, and spending time in the North Georgia mountains. She has a blended family with five adult children, their spouses, and a grandson.
Mark K. De Meza, BS, CPO/LPO
Mark is an American Board Certified prosthetist/orthotist who brings more than 35 years of experience to Georgia Orthopedic Resources. He is also licensed in prosthetics and orthotics in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners. Mark holds certifications in lower extremity microprocessors as well as direct socket system prothesis.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Health & Human Performance at the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Florida International University. The last 15 years were spent at the Atlanta VA Medical Center as a prosthetist/orthotist.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys golf, running and traveling with his wife, Kim. They have two adult sons, one of whom followed his footsteps and is a certified orthotist and board-eligible prosthetist.
Seth Weedy
Seth came to Georgia Orthopedic Resources as a student intern in 2019. He was hired as an orthotist assistant and graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with a focus in exercise science. Seth is currently attending Kennesaw State University to acquire his master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics. Seth, and other KSU students, will be at our practice as we participate in resident rotations. During his breaks from KSU, Seth will also assist us at GOR.
Seth is married to Alexandra. His hobbies include running, listening to audio books, and video games. He likes to dabble in mixology and enjoys time at the lake with family and friends.
Administrative Staff
Audrey Bentley, Human Resources/Marketing
A nine-year veteran at Georgia Orthopedic Resources, Audrey wears many hats. She is responsible for human resources policies and procedures, office management, and marketing. She says the best part about working at Georgia Orthopedic Resources is “the relationships with one another!”
Audrey has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in special education. She also is certified in CPR.
She and her husband, Jake, reside in Hoschton. They have two sons, Colson and Cooper. When not at work, she finds time for mountain biking, PIYO, cheering for her sons at lacrosse games, baking, and being a jewelry stylist for Plunder Design. Her favorite dessert is a “good cupcake or chocolate chip cookie.”
Victoria Lynn Knight, Office Administrator
After 17 years with a previous employer, Victoria joined Georgia Orthopedic in early 2020. Working in the front office, she has a variety of responsibilities including customer service, scheduling, ordering, shipping, data entry, verifying insurance coverage, and patient intake.
A native of Lenox, she resides in Ocilla with husband Lee, son, Alex, and daughter, Amanda.
Outside the office, Victoria loves to plant flowers and trees, dining out, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her favorite desserts are cheesecake, carrot cake, and vanilla ice cream.
The best part for Victoria about working for Georgia Orthopedic Resources is “I have a huge love for working face-to-face with the public, so I am very happy to have a lot of customer service duties with this position.”
Janeth Corona, Office Administrator
Janeth Corona is one of our office administrators. She offers a key level of expertise to our staff as she is bilingual.
As office administrator, she is responsible for obtaining patient benefits, insurance eligibility, and working to make sure their orthotic or prosthetic component is covered. She also assists with phone calls and scheduling and is certified in CPR and First Aid. She appreciates the teamwork and great environment at GOR.
Janeth has an associate degree in early childhood education from Lanier Technical College. Prior to joining GOR, she was an assistant for seven years at First Presbyterian Child Development Center before progressing to lead teacher.
When not working, Janeth enjoys spending time and caring for her nieces and nephews. She also likes reading and streaming shows on her computer.
A native of Gainesville, she currently resides in Jackson County.
Lisa Purvis, Billing Specialist, Bookkeeper
Lisa has worked for Georgia Orthopedic Resources for seven years as the billing specialist. Her experience spans 21 years, managing claim processes, timely claim filing, and follow-up and correspondence with insurance companies.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, she and her husband, Pete, reside in Acworth. Their family includes two daughters, a son, and grandson, as well as three dogs. She enjoys watching her youngest daughter play soccer and spending time with family and friends.
With a favorite dessert of key lime pie, Lisa said she enjoys her coworkers and the family environment that has been created at the company.
James D. Hardy, Bookkeeper
An employee with Georgia Orthopedic for 11 years, James has been in the field for 14 years. As bookkeeper, his responsibilities include payroll, bill payment, and maintaining the books for monthly accountant reviews.
James has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from North Georgia College, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, and he completed training as an EMT at Albany Technical College.
He maintained the books for a radio station that he was part owner of in the late 1980s. James also has expertise as a computer programmer with software sales under the name Hardy Data Systems. He has also sold radio and TV station programs worldwide.
James resides in Tifton with his wife Linda and he has three stepdaughters. For relaxation, he likes to watch television and movies, Georgia sports, and taking walks. With a favorite dessert of pecan pie, James said the best part about working at Georgia Orthopedic Resources is the good group of employees.
Toni Rowe, Office Administrator
A graduate of Valdosta State University with a marketing degree, Toni has been with Georgia Orthopedic Resources since 2012. She is responsible for scheduling clinics, authorizations, chart audits, coordinating employee yearly training, Medicaid billing, tracking payments, and follow-up billings. She also has a certification as an Orthotic Fitter.
A native of Tifton, Toni resides in Dublin with her husband, Rob. They have a combined seven children and one granddaughter. She enjoys spending time with family, going to Lake Sinclair, and her favorite dessert is chocolate pie. Toni said the best part about working at Georgia Orthopedic Resources is “talking to the moms and keeping up with the progress of the kids Jeff has been treating over the years.”
Rubi Mata, Office Administrator
Rubi is responsible for obtaining patient benefits, insurance eligibility, and working to make sure patient’s orthotic or prosthetic components are covered, Rubi also assists with phone calls, scheduling, and she is certified in CPR. Rubi also offers translation services and assists with our Spanish speaking patients and families.
Rubi said one of the best parts of the job, “is getting to see how happy our patients are with their device and how much it helps them in their daily lives.” She appreciates the environment at Georgia Orthopedic Resources and her “awesome boss and co-workers.”
She resides in Jackson County with her husband, Rey, and enjoys spending time with her family, which includes three children – Benji, Kenny, and Kamila. Her favorite dessert is chocolate cake with ice cream.
Jennifer Hall, Office Administrator
Jennifer joined Georgia Orthopedic Resources (GOR) in early 2023. As office administrator, she is responsible for customer service, scheduling, insurance eligibility, and assisting with phone calls.
Jennifer became a certified pharmacy technician in 2015. She worked at a physical therapy facility for four years before joining GOR. Outside of the office, Jennifer likes to spend time at the beach and on the water, as well as run her permanent jewelry side business.
A native of Moultrie, she currently resides in Tift County with her husband, Dustin, and two sons, Gaitlin and Jim-Brayden.
